Polyploidy or genome doubling is a natural force in plant evolution and can enhance plant growth and resilience. In orchard and forest trees, technical difficulties have prevented polyploidisation as a routine breeding tool, AEC technology platform enables the development of stable tetraploid lines.

Polyploids that have been deliberately created using AECs technology platform induce evolutionary events by selectively directing epigenetic change within a plant’s genome. Utilising this process, polygenomic plant development may be ‘directed’ towards specific performance characteristics such as:

  • Drought Tolerance

  • Salt Tolerance

  • Increased Fruit Size

  • Faster Growth

  • Disease Resistance

  • Greater Pest Tolerance
